Principal's Message

Steele Lane Families,

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Steele Lane Elementary Principal. I am honored to be a member of this school community and I look forward to building relationships with each and every one of you.

I have served as an elementary educator in grades first through fifth as well as a district teacher on special assignment, leading other educators with integrating technology within classrooms KA-12th grade, at the site level as well as district-wide. Most recently I have had the honor of being the assistant principal at both Hidden Valley and Helen Lehman Elementary schools.

I have lived in Sonoma County since attending Sonoma State University on an athletic scholarship for Softball. My husband and I are raising our two daughters in the county and have enjoyed the community and the Sonoma Strong spirit that comes with residing here.

I am confident that my experiences in education during my eighteen-year career have prepared me to excel in this position. I am an energetic leader that takes pride in fostering relationships with those I work with, as well as creating a positive, collaborative learning community that is full of enjoyment. I constantly seek ways to grow and learn professionally in order to enhance both my strengths and the learning and strengths of all members of the school community.

Being student-focused is an important aspect of my approach as an instructional leader at our site. My goals for myself in this role include being a timely, consistent, and clear communicator, that has a focused plan for discipline, and that supports the social and emotional needs of ALL students and staff on campus. I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet our school’s needs and to interact with parents and community members efficiently. We will be meeting as a staff, and with parents and students throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and school-home communication.

As the leader at our school, I am all in. You will get a passionate and humorous leader who takes pride in being involved in a successful school community. Please know that my door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input during this year. Let us keep our students as the primary focus of our work.

To our students, I cannot wait to see you all! I hope that you are excited about this coming school year. It is going to be a meaningful and fun year. We will be learning together to achieve the highest accomplishments. I can’t wait to celebrate our collective successes.

I know these times are uncertain, however, I am confident that collectively we can navigate these circumstances and foster a positive experience for all of our learners at Steele Lane.

Go Vikings,

Amber Williams
